°1986, BrusselsJulie is a designer who lives and works in Antwerp. She often walks around cities to photograph architecture, strangers, plants and banalities, when listening to music. An old olympus frames her world in 2 by 3. She finds it interesting to present the photographs not in a fixed order but in a way it can be modified by intuition.
“what is interesting about analog photography is the concept of time and the way you can change the narrative. it is often that I forget which exposures are left on my film roll until I develop them. then I revisit these memories, pair different places together with people who’ve never met each other, merging different timelines. it leaves me wandering where or when the photographs were captured, with new stories to unfold.”
She admires the works of Bill Viola, Susan Meiselas, Friederike Von Rauch, Vincent Delbrouck, & Max Pinckers.
